Based in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, North Wiltshire and Somerset. Aquatic Harmony provide Antenatal and Postnatal aqua sessions as well as relaxed introductory swimming classes for babies and toddlers in warm pools.
Focusing on a more holistic approach to pregnancy, birth and beyond, we use methods to enhance you and your baby's well-being. We follow the internationally acclaimed Birthlight programme in aqua natal and baby swim, which strives to use the latest research findings in the development of simple but effective movements in pregnancy, birth and beyond.
Our Birthlight aqua natal pregnancy classes are recommended by the Royal college of Midwifes (RCM) and offer a relaxed environment in a warm pool in which you can prepare for birth, and enjoy each stage of your pregnancy with your growing baby. Movements and rotations have been adapted for the water making them achievable and comfortable for pregnant and postnatal women and can be very beneficial if you are suffering from backache, pelvis pain, SPD and other pregnancy related symptoms. You do not need to have practiced yoga before or be a swimmer to enjoy our classes.
When your baby has arrived, Aquatic Harmony Postnatal classes will assist you with realigning and ‘closing the body’. We focus on realigning the spine, strengthening the abdominal muscles and regaining tone in the pelvic floor muscles. New Mums not only find this a safe way to tone and remodel their figure, but will also enjoy sharing this relaxing pool time to bond with their baby.
Our baby and toddler swim lessons involve a gentle, child-led and progressive technique. Using the Birthlight method of teaching, which encourages free movement in the water, it allows your baby to set the pace of progression. The focus is on parent and baby bonding, relaxation, confidence and, of course, enjoying songs, fun and games!
